Project Rene used to be Project Lotus
And now for an exciting revelation! We actually knew the name of the next-gen Sims game as far back as 2021, when it was initially reported under the title “Project Lotus.”
It seems that the switch from Project Lotus to Project Rene happened just before the official announcement in 2023. Interestingly, there are still code references and even in-game car license plates that nod to Project Lotus.
EA has been pretty tight-lipped recently about the progress of The Sims 5 and its current development status. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long to see more of this game’s exciting potential.
